UK company specialising in solar pv technologies is seeking a partnership with a third party who can supply and work in collaboration to explore printable photo-absorber materials. Examples include nano-particles and quantum dot based materials such as CIGS.

The partner will be required to supply pv material to be used in the testing and development of lightweight, flexible and low cost solar panels.

A services agreement is offered, a joint venture agreement would also be considered.

Incorporated in 2012, this innovative company is heavily investing resources into the development of an ultra-low cost and lightweight solar pv product.  The flexible pv product can be manufactured at a fraction of the cost of silicon pv and is lightweight. This allows a wide range of applications to be developed including, commercial-non-load bearing rooftops, off-grid applications in developing countries and the integration into consumer devices.

To assist in the development of this product, the company is seeking a pv absorber material manufacturer/developer who will be able to supply smaller quantities of ink in the first instance to be used in the development phase of the product leading to high volume requirements in the future once manufacturing commences.

The pv absorber material to be supplied must be capable of being printed or deposited in air at low temperatures (<120oC). Examples would include nano-particle or quantum dot materials including CIGS, CZTS and PbS, however other suitable materials would be considered.

The company is looking for a suitable manufacturing/developer company to supply the material on the basis of a services agreement. Depending on capabilities a joint venture agreement would also be considered.

Type and Role of Partner Sought:
Partner sought
Solar pv absorber material manufacturer/developer to initially supply  small quantities of material (<1kg batches) which will then increase as the company moves through to pilot scale and ultimately full scale product.
A services agreement is offered to the supplier.  A joint venture agreement would also be considered.
