Partner Search - Optimized control of refrigeration plants

Ανάρτηση: 21/03/2016

A research team at an Italian university developed a new solution to improve performance of refrigeration systems and machines based on expansion and compression cycles, by optimizing the control of mechanical devices regulating each phase of the refrigeration cycle, especially compressors and cooling valves. The team is looking for partners for further testing and industrialization activities. Research, technical cooperation and license agreement are considered.

Compression and expansion cycles for refrigeration systems comprise of various phases, each of which is associated with a specific mechanical device (compressors, valves, evaporators). The proposed solution, developed by an Italian electronic engineering research team, makes refrigeration systems more efficient by optimizing control of these devices, in particular of compressors and cooling valves. The methodology exploits advanced control systems engineering techniques.
The reference markets include that of refrigeration systems and, more broadly, all market segments which rely on compression and expansion systems, such as:
- Heating and cooling systems
- Commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
- Domestic refrigeration systems.
Potential clients for the technology include suppliers of electronic control units for refrigeration systems, heat pumps and plants using expansion and compression cycles for heating or cooling. Manufacturers of internal components for refrigeration systems, such as compressors and valves for evaporators may also be interested in the technology.
The researchers are currently looking for industrial partners to co-develop, field-test and industrialise the solution. Research and technical cooperation agreement are available, as well as license agreements.

Type and Role of Partner Sought
The research team is looking for partners for further testing and industrialization activities. The solution is an advanced concept stage and requires further development and field-testing before engineering, industrialization and commercialization.
Various cooperation options available based on partners' specialization and market interest: research, technical cooperation and license agreement.
